Frank Vandenbroucke is the latest Belgian rider to be saddled with his countries hopes and expectations.
Riding his first Tour, he finished 50th overall, and is here seen here at Alpe d'Huez.

He has made an excellent start to his 1998 campaign, with victory in Paris-Nice (March), one of the first major stage races of the season.
